I treat my listener ocs somewhere in between listener and oc, like I come up with an appearance, age name and maybe some additional personality traits but that's about it.

But that doesn't mean I don't come up with stuff when the opportunity pops up

Darlin's whole life they were seen as a wild child, a tomboy, dirty and scraped. They were tough, feisty, stubborn, they were, a tank.

Some to most of those things were true, but they were much more than that. But to them it always seemed like that's the only thing everyone saw them as and the only thing they were ever going to be, a bloodied rabid dog.

So imagine what happens when they meet Quinn.

He treated them like they were beautiful, like they were delicate, like they were precious.

When they were with him they felt like they were beautiful in all the ways everyone else told them they weren't. And with those rose colored glasses it was hard to see the red flags.

I honestly dislike when the fandom portrays them as nothing more than a wild crackhead that's constantly getting injured and getting into fights and acting like a rabid animal and getting arrested every other day and needs Sam to come pick up their prices. Yes that might be the vibe they give off and what sets them off from other listeners, but what about their joky nature? What about their flirty-ness ? What about the care and the understanding?

In my oc story they definitely start out jaded since they're isolated and hunting down their serial killer ex boyfriend, but once they meet Sam, reconnect with the pack and start feeling safe again you can see all the good parts of them.
